This Valentine’s Day, Why is This a Thing? cordially invites you to get NAILED! Once upon a time, in pre-Obamacare USA, there was a David O. Russell film called Nailed. The biting satire boasted a star-studded ensemble (including Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal and James Marsden) and a how-the-sausage-is-made script from political nepo-baby Kristin Gore. But a tumultuous production left the project incomplete and abandoned until 2015. That year, David O. Russell was coming off of three consecutive best picture nominations, Jake Gyllenhaal’s profile had risen even higher and a plunderous group of producers saw an opportunity to strike while the iron was hot. Thus, a shoddy cut of the film was cobbled together; and where Nailed once stood, Accidental Love rose from the ashes. Nick, Nico and Adam break down all this madness and look for some salvageable remains within the cinematic train wreck.
